The 13th International Conference on WWER Fuel Performance, Modelling and Experimental Support “WWER Fuel 2019” will be held from 15 to 21 September 2019 in Nessebar, Bulgaria.
The Conference is organized every two years by the Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in co-operation with the International Atomic Energy Agency and is sponsored by the Russian fuel company TVEL and Kozloduy NPP Plc. The Conference is a prestigious international forum where problems of present interest are discussed at expert level and the latest developments in nuclear fuel management technologies are shared.
Among the main topics that are going to be discussed during WWER FUEL 2019 are fuel performance and operational experience, improvement of fuel design and operation, modelling and experimental support, fuel safety and quality management, WWER-1000 fuel reliability and spent nuclear fuel management.
The Conference will be attended by scientists and experts from Bulgaria, Russia, Austria, Germany, Norway, Poland, USA, Hungary, Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, India, South Korea and others. Among the participants of the Conference are representatives of scientific institutes, nuclear power operators, nuclear companies, including nuclear fuel manufacturers, regulators and international organizations responsible for the development and safety of nuclear technologies and facilities.
The International Conference has been held since 1994 and has proven its effectiveness through its contribution to enhancing the reliability and safe operation of WWER reactors.
