Representatives of Bulgarian Nuclear Society attended in the student’s conference “Nuclear Energy for Clean Nature”, dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the Kozloduy NPP First Unit commissioning and the 140th anniversary of Albert Einstein’s birth. Organised by Women in Nuclear (WiN) – Bulgaria and veterans of the nuclear industry, the conference was held on 15th March 2019 in Kozloduy, Bulgaria.
The winners of the student competition launched in November 2018 were awarded within the framework of the event. More than 150 students from Kozloduy, Montana and Belene took part in this competition.
The youths had to create a video, a brochure or to make a presentation, choosing among the following topics: “The Nuclear Energy – the Modern Technology of the Current Times”, “The History of Atom”, “Einstein – Genius or Demon” or to write an essay on “Nuclear Energy in the Future – Trying for Forecast.”
The organizers goal was to promote nuclear technology among the high school students and to present them with the prospects for professional development, which nuclear industry provides.
The winners will take part in the competition for the best presentation, organized by the Department of Thermal and Nuclear Power Engineering at the Technical University of Sofia, which will be held on 23 April 2019.
